Jesus the "Word"Jesus is often referred to as the Word of God in the Bible. He came by this name because His life on earth was to be a message in action. In the same way a mirror reflects the objects it faces, Jesus' life on earth communicates to us who God the Father is. When we look at Him, we see the Father. We get this view of the Father in Jesus because, while here, Jesus acted in the same way God the Father would have, had He been here Himself. If ever the term "like Father, like Son" applied, it does here. Jesus was literally a carbon copy of His father. Besides the message of His life, Jesus' words were also a special communication from God the Father to us. Today the Bible is our primary source for God's words.
