Welcome to ORIGINAL LANGUAGES
The Bible is actually a library of sixty-six books. This "library" is divided into two sections, the Old Testament, compiled before the time of Christ, and the New Testament, compiled after that time. The first manuscripts of the Old Testament portion of the Bible were written in Hebrew and those of the New Testament in Greek. Though translations have been made in modern languages, the richness and clarity of meaning found in the original language provides valuable insight into the Bible's message. In cases where these insights are vital to a clear understanding of the Bible passage, we have made them available to you. Click on the word of your choice in the alphabetized list below to access its original language definition. (This list will get longer!)
