Forgiveness
Greek 859: aphesis {af'-es-is}
In this text:
1) release from bondage or imprisonment
2) forgiveness or pardon, of sins (letting them go as if they had never been committed), remission of the penalty
The word aphesis appears a number of times in the Bible. It is translated differently in various texts appearing as; remission 9 times, forgiveness 6 times, deliverance 1 times, liberty 1 time; for a total of 17 appearances.
