Elimelech


Elimelech in Hebrew means "my God is king." He was the husband of Naomi and the father-in-law of Ruth. He moved his family from Bethlehem to Moab to escape a famine. His sons were Chilion and Mahlon. He and his sons died in Moab.

Elimelechs story is recorded in Ruth 1:16-17.
