Eve

Eve was the first woman and the mother of all living. God made her from one of Adam's ribs. She was given to Adam as a companion. When she wandered away from her husband she was tempted by the serpent and ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. She then gave some to Adam. They suffered the consequences of their rebellion. Two of the direct results incurred on Eve were pain in childbirth and Adam was given authority over her. There is no mention of her death in the Scriptures.

Lessons from the life of Eve:

God prepares the people He uses.

  • Consulting with one's spouse before making life-changing decisions is vital.
  • It's dangerous to act impulsively.
  • Always consult with God before making decisions.
  • Don't blame others for your mistakes.
  • Be content where God puts you.

Eve's story is told in Genesis 2:18 through Genesis 4:26.
