Jesus
Jesus is many things to many people. In the Bible four things stand out about Him. He is:
As creator Jesus is both our God and our Maker. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:1,14, 17, 3. KJV. As the Son of God, Jesus connection with His Father is the most important part of His life. He said, "I and my Father are one." John 10:30, KJV. "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: And, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Matthew 3:16-17. KJV. As the son of man and our savior Jesus was born on earth through the power of the Holy Spirit. Mary and Joseph were chosen to be His parents. "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Just before His death for us, Jesus was thinking about the times He had shared with God the Father before He came to earth. He prayed, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." John 17:3-5. KJV. Jesus was totally committed to His mission on earth as our savior. He gave his life to give us eternal life. His resurrection guarantees that death cannot hold us forever. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. KJV. "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:11-13. KJV.
