Potiphar

Potiphar was an Egyptian officer and captain of Pharaoh's guard. He bought Joseph from a band of Midianite merchants to be his household slave. Joseph proved so diligent and skillful that he was given charge over his entire household. Potiphar wife made amorous overtures toward Joseph and when he rejected her she convinced Potiphar to put him in prison.

Read about Potiphar in Genesis 37:36 and Genesis 39.
