Becoming acquainted with Jesus Christ is the journey of a life-time. While there are an infinite number of ways you can develope your relationship with Him, it is helpful to have a few suggestions to get started. To meet this need we have provided some ideas in the list below.

As you begin your walk with Jesus, or invest in a walk you have already begun, it is our prayer that you will "Grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..." 2 Peter 3:18

		Devotional Ideas

1. Reading the Bible through is an excellent idea. There are Bible's prepared which will help you to do this in a one year time frame. However, you may do this at whatever speed you wish. An alternative to reading the entire Bible through, is to read a chapter or so every day of the GOD'S DIARY edition of the Bible located on WORD SIGHT'S web site. It is a beautiful collection of Bible texts following the plan of salvation from Genesis to Revelation in chronological order. GOD'S DIARY is also compiled with a special focus on Jesus Christ. You will be incredibly blessed by the insight's into Jesus, GOD'S DIARY provides, as well as its beautiful unfolding of the great controversy between God and Satan.

2. Read one chapter from the book of proverbs each day. With 30 chapters in the book this will take you nicely through one month.

3. Beginning with Matthew work your way through the four gospels, reading a chapter or two a day.

4. Read through the short epistles of the New Testament beginning with Galatians.

5. A wonderful supplement to any devotional experience is reading through the "Conflict of the Ages" series by Ellen G. White. You may either read through the entire series or simply read through the book "Desire of Ages." In either case you will be incredibly blessed. The Book "Desire of Ages" has been recommended by a Library of Congress librarian as the "best book ever written on the life of Christ." Another wonderful book to begin your devotional life with is "Steps to Christ," also by Ellen White. If you need to purchase these books you may do so from www.adventistbookcenter.com.

6. Psalms is also beautiful Bible book to include in your devotional life. The incredibly frank and open prayers recorded there reveal the kind of confiding, unveiled relationship you can have with Jesus Christ. In the evenings just before bed I often read a Psalm. I've found this to be a great perspective giver to my day and a good note to go to sleep on.
