A New Millennium
1. When will this millennium start?
  1. Some say it just started.
  2. Others say it will not start until nest year.
  3. The Jewish calendar says it is still another 240 years.
  4. We don't know exactly, but prophecy tells us we are near.
2. The Bible tells us there are 1000 years that will be different than all the others.
  1. It will be a time of peace. The nations will be at war no more.
  2. When does this 1000 years begin? 2 Peter 1:19
    1. Where will the saved be?
    2. Where are the wicked?
    3. What about the devil?
  3. What is going to happen at the end of the 1000 years?
  4. Let's see if the Scripture will answer these questions for us.
The Biblical Millennium.
1. It will be a time of Peace. Revelation 20:1-4
2. What starts the Millennium?
  1. Scripture says it begins with the resurrection of the righteous. Revelation 20:6
  2. The millennium begins and ends with a resurrection.
    1. 1 Thessalonians 4:16
    2. Revelation 20:5
    3. John 5:28-29
  3. Great difference in these two resurrection.
    1. Resurrection of the righteous. 1 Corinthians 15:51-54
    2. Resurrection of the wicked. No change takes place.
  4. What about the people living at the time Jesus comes?
    1. The righteous. 1 Thessalonians 4:17
    2. The wicked 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9
    3. The wicked will know that Christ has come back. Revelation 6:14-17
  5. The devil will be bound for a thousand years.
    1. Revelation 20:1-2
    2. Put together what we've learned, see what happens when this occurs.
      - Jesus comes back
      - The righteous are raised from the dead.
    3. The living righteous are taken to heaven with those who have been resurrected.
    4. The wicked living are slain.
    5. The wicked dead are not disturbed until the end of the 1000 years.
    6. Satan is bound.
What happens during the 1000 years?
1. Condition of the earth during this time.
  1. The earth will be desolate.
  2. Isaiah 24:1,3
  3. Jeremiah 25:33
2. The devil will be bound on this earth. Revelation 20:1-2
3. Judgment is given to the righteous
  1. Revelation 20:4
  2. Who will the saints in heaven judge? 1 Corinthians 6:2-3
The end of the 1000 years.
1. The New Jerusalem comes this earth from heaven.
  1. Revelation 21:2
  2. Where will the New Jerusalem settle? Zechariah 14:4-5
2. Wicked are raised from the dead.
  1. Revelation 20:5
  2. Jude 1:14-15
3. Satan is set free from his bonds. Revelation 20:7
4. Satan gathers the wicked together to take the City.
  1. Revelation 20:8-9
  2. Why are the wicked interested in taking the New Jerusalem?
    1. In the City is the tree of life.
    2. Genesis 3:22-24
    3. Revelation 22:2
5. Great White Throne Judgment. Revelation 20:11-12
6. The wicked destroyed. Revelation 20:9,14-15
Earth made new. 2 Peter 3:12-13 & Revelation 21:1
Order of events at the end of the 1000 years
1. The new Jerusalem comes to this earth
2. The wicked are raised
3. Satan is freed from his prison
4. Wicked try to take the New Jerusalem
5. Great White Throne Judgment
6. Wicked are destroyed
7. The earth is made new
